My fin is lost / broken, how can I replace it?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 4:33 PM

Slide-in SUP fins are generally a universal fit, and although we do not currently sell them separately, they can be purchased from other retailers. You will want to look for a '9" Slide-In SUP Fin".

If you are having trouble inserting or removing your new fin, you may find our My Fin is Too Difficult to Slide In / Out article helpful.

What is the difference between the MAX and the PACE?

Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 4:35 PM

The MAX and PACE vary slightly in terms of speed and stability, but both are great beginner boards!

Broadly – the MAX is a ‘mountain bike’ the PACE is a ‘racer’, so your choice depends on your style of paddling and expected use.

The MAX is a slightly more stable board- therefore a little less manoeuvrable than the PACE. The MAX has a 130kg maximum recommended payload (around 110kg/ 20st recommended paddler weight limit), the PACE 120kg (around 105kg/ 18st recommended paddler weight limit), so the MAX has the edge for touring or carrying small passengers.

The PACE offers a little more fun as you develop skills – slightly more manoeuvrable and quicker but a shade more balance required. The PACE is also a better option if you are planning on paddling in the sea or on choppy waters, as the pointed nose allows it to cut through these conditions with ease. You may also find it more rewarding once you progress past the novice phase.

Having said that, they are both aimed at novices and either board will certainly give you lots of rewarding paddling!

What should I wear when paddling?

Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 4:36 PM

The short answer: Wear what makes you comfortable!

We would always recommend wearing a buoyancy aid, even if you are an experienced paddler.

If you are going out in the colder months, we would recommend waterproof clothing or even a wetsuit to keep you warm if you do inevitably get wet. In the warmer months, we would suggest ensuring you are comfortable and well protected from the sun.

Where can I find repair glue?

We recommend using MEK glue, which can be found in the repair kits provided with all boards, or purchased separately from other retailers.

Which board is right for me?

Modified on: Tue, 11 Oct, 2022 at 11:39 AM

To determine which board you need, you must first think about your primary use of the board.

Is this to take your dog out, use it on the sea or to do yoga? Once you know this, you can narrow down your options and decide depending on stability, manoeuvrability and speed.

You will want to take into consideration the paddler weight, as well. Please see How Much Weight Will Each Board Carry?

Here is a brief overview of some of our beginner paddleboards:

Board Description Board Dimensions Recommended Paddler Weight
BOLT JR A brilliant board for children and lighter paddlers. The short length and pointed nose allows for easy manoeuvrability and handling.  9'4" x 28" x 4" up to 60 kg / 9.5 st
ALLROUND TEN  The Aquaplanet Allround Ten is the perfect inflatable stand up paddleboard for families, beginners and paddlers looking for a fun, responsive and light SUP. Ideal for rivers, calm seas and small waves. 10' x 30" x 5" up to 85 kg / 13.5 st
ROCKIT The 10’2” Rockit is a great all-rounder, which comes with the necessary kit to double up as a kayk. It is a little bigger than the Allround Ten, making it a tad more stable with more volume for improved buoyancy. 10'2" x 31" x 5" up to 85 kg / 13.5 st
PACE The Pace, with its signature pointed shape is ideal for use in choppier waters where the nose can cut through waves with style. This is the faster of our two 10'6" boards.

The extra thickness of the Pace and Max gives you supreme stability and buoyancy as compared to a 5" board.
10'6" x 31" x 6" up to 120 kg / 18.5 st
MAX The Max is the perfectly versatile SUP, suitable for use in most types of water, its rounded shape lends it more stability when compared with the PACE. See also What Is the Difference Between the MAX and the PACE? 10'6" x 31" x 6" up to 130 kg / 20 st
