How do I inflate my board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:13 PM
Using a manual pump supplied with your board is easy and straightforward, and a great pre-paddle warm up!
Inflating a Paddleboard
- Make sure the valve is in the UP position (press down the centre pin of the valve and turn 90 degrees either direction to achieve this)
- On the end of the hose, there is a washer. Make sure the washer is positioned with the groove facing the board (groove side outwards)
- Attach to the board using the bayonet fitting, push down and turn clockwise to lock into position Inflate using the pump (following instructions in the how to use your pump article)
- Its a workout to get to the right PSI, so don't be fooled when your board looks inflated already, there is still a long way to go!
- The gauge starts to read and move around 7 psi (about 10 minutes of pumping), pump to 15-17 psi; the last few psi are vital to the behaviour of your board.
- Remove the hose, push down and simply turn anti clockwise, a small amount of air will escape and the valve pops into position!
- Replace the valve cap on the board. You are ready to use your SUP!
How long does it take to inflate a board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:09 PM
Your board can take up to 10-15 minutes of continuous pumping to fully inflate.
This will vary depending on how quickly you pump.
It is a good idea to begin pumping with the pump in dual action mode and once the strokes get harder, remember to switch to single action. We recommend pumping the board in 4 sets of 3-minute pumping, to allow yourself some rest.
An electric pump will certainly take the physical element out of pumping up your board, but it's important to note that it will not necessarily make it much faster.

How do I extend the paddle?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 11:54 AM
Follow these simple steps to extend your collapsible paddle.
- Simply pull back the clip and slide the paddle upwards until it has reached the appropriate height.
- Your paddle should be 6-8 inches higher than your head when standing.
- The clip works like a spanner to tighten the grip around the paddle handle, and so you can turn this clockwise to tighten or loosen the grip before pressing it closed.
- The paddle should always be stored in separate pieces.

Does the paddle float?
Modified on: Fri, 17 Dec, 2021 at 11:33 AM
The Aquaplanet 3-piece paddles are made from Aluminium and do not float.
The paddles will float for a short period of time, and then will become waterlogged, causing them to sink.
However, you can purchase a paddle float separately.
Other paddles made from Carbon, Fibreglass or Carbon mix are lighter and will usually float.
Can I attach a kayak seat to the boards?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:15 PM
Some of our Aquaplanet boards include the ability to attach a kayak seat.
Look out for the D-rings on the deck pad which allow you to attach a kayak seat to the board.
Usually Kayak Seats will have clips that you can attach to the D-Rings and you can then adjust the length to position this correctly on your paddleboard.
Our boards which can have a kayak seat attached are:
- ROCKIT (Kayak Seat Included)
- ALLROUND TEN
- PACE
- MAX
- SEEKER*
- JUPITER*
*Not currently available outside the UK

How do I deflate and pack up my board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:23 PM
- To deflate your board, ensure the valve is in the deflate position and squeeze the air fully out of the board.
- You can crawl on the board on your knees, or apply pressure by sitting on it to get the SUP as flat and deflated as possible.
- Roll the SUP up in approximately 1ft increments and pack.
- For some larger models, it may help to fold the sides inwards before rolling.
Here are some useful videos to check out:
Please see below for step by step images on how to pack away the board.

How should I clean my board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:24 PM
Always be sure to rinse your board with fresh water after every use!
We recommend you wash off salt water, ideally with a product specially formulated for use on inflatable paddle boards.
Ensure that any mud, grit or sand is also cleaned off the board and it is dry before storing. You can also protect your board with a conditioning/protective UV treatment.
How should I store my board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:24 PM
We recommend storing your board clean and dry in the bag, away from direct sunlight.
You should also make sure that the board is not kept in a place with extreme heat differences, such as a garden shed. An insulated garage is a preferred option.
Your board can be stored whilst it is inflated. If doing this, please ensure that nothing is stored on top of the board, and that the side rails are protected from knocks.
Can I keep my board inflated?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:30 PM
Yes, you can keep your board inflated.
We do recommend that you fully clean and dry your board and keep it stored out of direct sunlight in a cool dry place, such as a garage.
Please note that your board may gradually loose a few PSI over time, and may need to be topped up before using.
Why does my pump hose keep slipping off the valve?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 1:04 PM
Usually, you just need to push harder when attaching the hose.
You should feel the hose slot into place as you twist. It can sometimes take some force to twist the hose into the valve properly, especially if the hose is new.
This sometimes happens when the washer (the rubber ring around the top of the hose) is too thick or put on incorrectly. If you are having problems with your washer try the following:
- Make sure that the groove in the washer is facing the board
- Try soaking the rubber washer in hot water to make it more malleable
- Replace the washer with a thinner washer
If you are still having problems then please do get in touch with a video of the issue you are experiencing.
Can I bring my dog on board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 1:05 PM
Yes, we have lots of customers who love taking their pooch with them on adventures!
Here are a few helpful things to consider:
- Are you making sure your four-legged friend is safe?
- We have pet buoyancy aids available on our UK site to help keep your dog safe. These are available elsewhere if we don't sell them in your area.
- Are your dog's claws sharp?
- Our iSUPs are tough enough to withstand some small scratches, plus they have a deckpad for extra protection, but if you are taking an inflatable kayak or other inflatable craft you may want to pop a towel down first to avoid any damage.
- How much does your dog weigh?
- This may not be a problem with a chihuahua, but if you have a large breed the maximum paddler weight limit for your board is worth considering, otherwise you could end up sitting quite low in the water or becoming unstable.
My valve is leaking after I disconnect the hose, why?
Modified on: Tue, 4 Oct, 2022 at 4:02 PM
If the leak is explosive and air is rushing out then the valve is in the open position and needs to be closed – quickly!
It is easy to forget to check that the valve pin is in the ‘closed’ or up position before beginning to pump, resulting in the agony of having to re-pump the last few psi again to the soundtrack of your paddling friend’s merry derision. It happens!
Some valves (with a white button) are a "push and click" closure, while others (with an exposed screw head) are a "push & twist". These need to be quarter-turned in a clockwise direction to lock them in place.
If you're sure that the valve was closed before you connected it, the hose might be getting caught on the valve when you remove it. Make sure you pull the valve away from the board to disconnect rather than push it in.
If the leak is slow...
One of two things is happening; Either the two pieces that make up the valve are not screwed together tightly enough, failing to form an airtight seal, or there is dirt, dust, or some other object caught in the valve. Do not worry, the valves are removable and replaceable.
In the repair kit there is a spanner, a black plastic tool used to tighten the valve up. Deflate your board completely and position the spanner over the valve. Press down with your left hand on the spanner while turning with your right. This action grips the back of the valve in place while the top part tightens down on to the board! It’s a bit like a jam jar and its lid.
You can view full instructions for tightening your valve here.
Will rocks or sunken objects damage my inflatable board?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:30 PM
Although our boards are made of strong PVC and will withstand minor knocks and scrapes, we would advise to take caution when paddling around rockier areas to avoid damages such as punctures. Please note, punctures are not covered by the warranty.
What is the tool in the repair kit for?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:29 PM
The tool in the repair kit is for tightening or removing the valve on your board if you notice a leak. More information about tightening your valve can be found here: How to Tighten a Valve to Stop Leaks
My pump pressure gauge is not working - what do I do?
Modified on: Tue, 18 Jan, 2022 at 12:34 PM
Your high pressure pump gauge requires quite a bit of back pressure to get the needle ‘off the stop’ – sometimes as much as 5-7psi. Even though you’ve pumped for what seems like ages and your SUP looks and feels solid – there’s more to go!
Don’t worry though, as you get up towards the 15-17psi range you need, there are fewer strokes required to raise the pressure (although the strokes get harder- so remember to switch to single action on your pump).
The first time you inflate a paddle board it can feel like an eternity, but in truth it’s a few minutes, you get used to it and as boarders will tell you, it’s a good warm-up!
Unless you’re already sure you are up to pressure- i.e you can verify that with a known working pump, keep pumping to see if the needle starts to move.

How does the Roof Rack inflate?
Modified on: Fri, 11 Nov, 2022 at 11:50 AM
This clever invention is an inflatable, multi purpose, portable load carrier that fits most cars. It can be fitted and removed in just minutes.
What do you get in the kit?
| Included in the kit: 2 x Inflatable roof pads 2 x Ratchet straps 1 x Storage bag |
|
| STEP 1: Unpack and roll out flat. Release strap from buckle. |
![]() |
| STEP 2: Open the valve and the rack will self inflate. Once fully inflated, close the valve. On first use the material will take up to 24 hours to recover from being packed up. To speed up inflation, you can blow air into the valve. |
|
| STEP 3: Open vehicle interior and place rack on top of the vehicle. |
STEP 4:
Circle strap through the vehicle interior and thread through the buckle on the end of the rack to tighten as shown.
Close all doors.
Tie off excess strap.
STEP 5:
Repeat steps 1-4 for the second rack.
STEP 6:
When the racks are not in use; remove from the vehicle. Open air valve, lay rack out flat and roll it up tight.
Close the air valve to keep the rack deflated for the compact storage in bag.
